37. Tower of Power

The thing that bothers me about this essay is that I sound like a TV evangelist. I'm not against religions, actually I support them, as long as one sees that they are belief systems and ergo, unprovable. And I wish they would stop killing each other, "for God's sake". I know it is an observable fact that things are getting better (See Chapter 17) but...

Anyhow, what I'm describing is the technically correct orientation of you and the Deity. It is one of probably dozens of possible orientations that can be reasonably imagined. This one I like because I can see it in my mind's eye and it's easy to draw and I'm mainly a visual person.

If you arrange a series of logically correct (highly probable) assumptions visually you have to put God in some kind of central position. I choose to put The Supreme Being (TSB) on top of my "tower of power".

The next step down I put Heaven because I need a place for the spirit of a human to go after the body's "death" (actually dis-assembly into smaller units). Underneath that place I put humans who are still alive and running bodies here on Earth. In between Heaven and us on Earth most people put in their particular belief system. There is no other reason for them to do that except that they like to do it.

See Chapter 42, "Human Orientation Schematic" for the picture I assembled.

Now if I imagine myself doing my stuff here on Earth in this orientation life gets very simple indeed and I'm not encumbered with a belief system. Here comes the evangelist stuff. I'm convinced that if people will use this mental picture of mine (or a picture of swimming in a sea of God or a picture of breathing God in and out or a picture of being wrapped in the wings of their Guardian Angel, etc.) their life would be greatly simplified and much happier.
